Roads are slippery and mostly still snow covered. Please avoid driving this morning to allow our road departments to clear the roadways for the next several hours as the last small band of snow leaves our area. Harding currently has ZERO road closures and ZERO power outages.
The Harding Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) team met again today and is continuing preparations for the impending storm. Currently, the National Weather Service is forecasting 12"-18" snow with strong wind gusts. The snow is forecast to start late afternoon/early evening today and continuing throughout the night. Unfortunately, we are expecting power outages as a result of the wet snow forecasted and the high winds.
JCP&L customers who are without power need to call in their power outages to 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or click the "Report Outage" link on www.firstenergycorp.com. DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 just for power outages.
Stay away from downed poles and wires for safety! Even downed trees could have wires entangled. If there is a dangerous situation, please contact Harding Township Police immediately. Dial 9-1-1 for emergencies!
